Ritchie was a career employee with Sime Darby from 1979 moving up the ranks to serve as Financial Contoller/Company Secretary/Investment Manager- Sime AXA Assurance, as Finance Director- Sime UEP, and Finance Director- Sime Engineering Services before leaving the Group in 2005 to  join PT Gunanusa Fabricators Utama (Indonesia) as Finance Director from 2006 to 2011 and at TH Heavy Engineering Sdn Bhd from 2011 to 2013 afterwhich he formed Impiana Varia Sdn Bhd as a plaform to continue providing his services to the community in Insurance, Computer Solutions & Accounting.
